Follow Us Around Sydney Fashion Weekend

Last Saturday we got the opportunity to attend SHOP's Sydney Fashion Weekend! It was an amazing event hosted at the Royal Hall of Industries in Sydney. We had been excitedly awaiting this day for a few months now!

We first arrived and attended the Runway Show at 12pm. As always it was fantastic to see the looks these Australian designers had come up with, as they are meant to be styled. It was very inspiring and gave us a few items to keep our eyes on and hopefully we can incorporate them into some looks for you all.

Our favourite runway trends were by Talluah and Maurie and Eve. The designers use of bold prints and new season trendy hem-lines was super amazing and you can see some of their pieces in the photos down below.

We then went for lunch at an Italian restaurant in Fox Studios and then the intense shopping began! The amount of people in some of the stands was so overwhelming, but it added to the atmosphere. It was also great to take inspiration from other girls shopping around, everyone who attended had such a great sense of style.

We both picked up a few items, with Hayley loving the Premonition booth and Sophie splurged in Cooper St. It was all around a great day and we would definitely recommend everyone get in early to buy tickets for next years event - as ticket sell out so quickly!

We hope you enjoy this post, something a little different, but it gives you a look into what we got up to and follow us around Sydney Fashion Weekend. We will be back with regular OOTD uploads next week.

Love, Hayley & Sophie xo

Shop the Runway, New Season Fashion and Inspiration

We are currently on our Easter break from University, so unfortunately that means we aren't able to do our regular OOTD's! But we hope you still get something our of todays post. With all the hype over Mercede's Fashion Week in Sydney we have had our eyes glued to the runways and our Instagram feeds have been going crazy with amazing outfits for the up-and-coming season.

We wanted to bring you a post today on what we think are two incredible and unique ideas from a variety of designers and how you can translate them into your own wardrobe and make them work for you (and your budget!). Taking these trends we have broken them down into what to wear them with, how they can be styled and where you can purchase some of the pieces, or look-a-likes for a fraction of the price.

Monochrome Textures

One of our favourite designers - CAMEO - launched their new season styles on Tuesday and one of the main themes we saw was monochrome combined in with clashing textures and prints. As well CAMEO in all the perfect-ness that was Alex Perry's show we also saw his designs take on this trend. His collection played with panelling of colours and contrasting textures a lot more than print, but its obvious that black and white designs remain hot off the runway and a staple for this season.

Geometric Designs

Another of our favourite designers from the show is By Johnny. His line was focused around the trend of Geometric Designs. We also noticed similar geometric inspired designs from Bec & Bridge. This trend can be taken to any limit but we believe it is better to take pieces from this collection and mix them in with staple items.
